In der Hierarchie „Soziale und berufliche Gruppen“ sind Menschengruppen, die sich durch ein oder mehrere gemeinsame Charakteristika auszeichnen (z.B. Sklaven, Witwe) und so als soziale Gruppe verstanden werden könne aufgeführt. Gemeint sind außerdem solche Individuen, die sich selbst als Mitglied einer gleichen sozialen Gruppe wahrnehmen, gemeinsame Ziele verfolgen, gemeinsame Normen und Wertvorstellungen entwickeln oder denselben beruflichen Tätigkeiten (Berufsgruppen) nachgehen.
